well i just installed an upgrade to wordpress and everything seems to be still here and still working…so if you see something broken on the blog let me know, but everything seems good to me. i should start posting new videos/audios soon
i haven’t been able to get the last 2 episodes up on vimeo yet, and onto my site in the flash player, but the good news is that they are on itunes, and have been each since the moment they were released. Sooo the easiest way to ensure you get the new shows when they’re released, subscirbe to the tech breakdown feed in itunes. You can either click here which will take you to the page in itunes where you can then click the subscribe button, or you just go to the itunes store, type in my name, Jordan Steffen, in the search box, and you’ll find the show is the only result of that search. You could also type in tech breakdown into the search box, but you will get more than one search result…however, my show is the only one that’s actually titled tech breakdown. So, if you’ve wondered why new shows haven’t been being posted, they have just not on the site!! so subscribe in itunes. You also get higher quality video in the itunes feed, which is much more suitable for full screen viewing than the flash video on the site here provided by vimeo. hope you enjoy the latest episodes 4 and 5. i plan on trying yet another new format, and have a cohost, maybe just discuss tech rather than a tutorial format…if you dont’ like that, or still want this show and then the other one in a different feed, let me know in comments to this post.
Well, episode 4 has finally been released…you would have thunk i would have had some amazing episode after all this time…but the truth is only the last two days went into it. To make up for that episode 5 will be released very (very) soon! And i’m going to change the format yet again, i’m going to try and stay under 5 minutes for sure, if not shorter. I’m also going for more of a hands-on type of feel, meaning instead of me sitting there telling you about it, i’m going to show it on screen….more like the first episode about wireless, but even more so. Also if you have any comments or suggestions, post them under this post. thanks,Jordan Steffen
After trying to release a new episode of Tech Breakdown, i recently broke the cycle this past week by not coming out with episode 4. The reason for this absence of an episode is that I have been very busy with my job; i had a deadline for a website I was designing for Riverview Kennel & Doggy Day Care (located in Cedarburg, WI). The good news however is that it is now finished and episode should be released this week as expected. Thank you for your continued support of jordansteffen.com, please post a comment to this blog post telling me your opinion of the first 3 episodes of Tech Breakdown (things you liked, areas they can improve in)Thank You.
While on a little walk around the Port bluff area today (taking photos) I happened upon an area which used to be the town swimming hole many years ago. I know about this attraction only from the information my grandma gave me while i was working on a school project in middle school, collecting information about how life was different in my city (she grew up here too) in the past.Today was the first time i’ve ever visted this area in the 19 years i’ve lived here. The cement retaining wall is still visible that once was one side of the swimming hole. There’s also another stone retaining wall pit on the adjacent side of the property which once was fed by a natural spring, which would then cascade down into the swimming hole as a small waterfall. I wish i could go back in time 80 years and see what this same area looked like before the city modernized and built an olympic sized outdoor pool. With few left from the generation that grew up with this swiming hole, I wonder if this part of the city’s past will just be forgotten?
Well, if you’re reading this, you’ve already seen it. I basically spent the last 8 hours designing the new site. Even though there’s not much actual content here yet besides the blog (this blog!) there will be soon. Myself, and a few of my friends should be producing some good video soon, with different shows with multiple episodes, and also i’ll be hopefully getting out and taking some pictures if the weather cooperates over the next few days and get that up on the site as well.
this is phase one of the new site…and hopefully will allow me to update the blog more frequently
